Puget Sound Evergreen is a family-owned and operated business proudly located in Belfair, Washington, nestled in the heart of the beautiful Olympic Peninsula near the Olympic National Forest. Since our founding in 1983, we’ve remained committed to providing premium-quality evergreen products while building lasting relationships with customers across the United States.

Our story began in the early 1980s when founders Jim and Janet Padden met while picking salal. Their shared work ethic, passion for the outdoors, and entrepreneurial spirit quickly grew into both a partnership and a marriage. In 1983, they established Puget Sound Evergreen, originally operating out of Port Orchard, Washington.

The company initially specialized in floral greens, supplying wholesalers and businesses throughout the United States. As demand grew, Puget Sound Evergreen expanded into the Christmas greens industry, producing handcrafted wreaths, garlands, centerpieces, and other holiday greenery. To support the company’s continued growth, Jim and Janet purchased property in Belfair, Washington, where the business has proudly remained ever since.

Janet’s experience in the evergreen industry began long before Puget Sound Evergreen was founded. After her family relocated from Pennsylvania to Washington, she worked in the family business, Harding Greens, where she learned every aspect of the trade—from harvesting salal and floral greens to crafting wreaths and garlands by hand. Those early experiences laid the foundation for the knowledge, craftsmanship, and dedication that continue to define our company today.

Jim and Janet married in 1983 and raised three sons—James Jr., Forrest, and Shane—all of whom grew up working alongside their parents and learning the family business firsthand. Their involvement helped shape the next generation of leadership and ensured the values the company was built on would continue for years to come.

Following Jim’s passing in May 2022, his son Shane Padden stepped into his father’s leadership role, continuing the legacy that Jim and Janet built together. Janet remains actively involved as President of the company, bringing decades of experience, knowledge, and passion to the business every day.

Today, Puget Sound Evergreen continues to operate with the same family values it was founded on over four decades ago. We take pride in delivering exceptional products, maintaining the highest standards of quality, and treating every customer like part of our extended family.
